Pod n Save capsules are reusable, ecological and are compatible with Nespresso®. Don't think twice about purchasing one of our pods! Save money and at the same time help save the planet from the waste of single use coffee pods.
We bring you a unique product that allows you to use your favourite coffee in your Nespresso machine. Our product is tried and tested and has a 10+ year lifetime which works out to be less than $0.27/per time you use it v.s. your standard off the shelf options of between $0.50 and $1.00 per use.
The kit includes a scoop and brush to help you during the filling of your pod and we also have available for purchase a tamper specifically designed for use with our pods to allow you to get the perfect coffee consistency every time you use our pod.
Our most common pain point with our pods is that people find the strength doesn't match what they are used to with their disposable pods. This is because strong disposable pods use a stronger Robusta coffee bean to create a stronger blend than if you simply use Arabica coffee beans. To find out more about this check out our blog here.
The other issue people experience is the consistency of the flow. This comes down to the grind of the coffee. For some machines espresso grind from the supermarket will work. For most, especially smaller Nespresso machines, a coarser grind is required. We recommend a grind at about 70 to 75% of espresso grind if espresso grind is 100%. This may take some trial and error with your home grinder or with your local roaster/store where you buy and get your beans ground.
To aid our customers we set out to create a coffee blend that enables you to have a strong coffee with a great flavour too. This process took a bunch of trialing before we settled on our current blend that we are happy to drink day in day out. We sell it either as beans or pre-ground to our recommended coarseness. Check it out HERE.
Even with shipping it is cheaper per use than disposable pods and we package it in compostable bags so it is better for the environment than the average off the shelf coffee you will find in the supermarket.
We stock our coffee pods right here in Tauranga, New Zealand and so we are able to commit to shipping you your pod within 3-4 working days from the day that you make your order.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are single use coffee capsules a problem?
In 2019, more than 20 billion single-use capsules were thrown away which is more than 130 million kilograms of waste EVERY SINGLE YEAR. If you choose our pods you are taking a step towards stopping this ecological disaster that is only growing the by year
How long does each pod last?

My machine is designed to pierce the capsule, how does the Pod n Save capsule not get damaged?
Our capsule is made from stainless steel so is not damaged during the process. We also have tested this process in machines countless times to make sure that the machine us is not damaged in the process.
How long should I wait between each use?
The capsule will be hot after each use so we recommend waiting 1-2 minutes before picking it up to wash and re-use it. If you are planning on making multiple coffees in a row then choose one of our discounted multi-pod packs so that you can make plenty of coffee for your friends and family.
But don't Nespresso recycle their capsules?
Yes they do, but in New Zealand this can only be done by dropping the capsules off to a Nespresso store, of which there only stores in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. If you either can't be bothered going into a store or don't live in one of these centres then you would have to courier your pods to these stores for them to be recycled which creates more damage to the environment. Once they actually get to Nespresso of the collected capsule some are used as fuel in electricity generation and only only about 25% are actually recycled. Nespresso predominantly makes their capsules from a special kind of aluminium which is not found in recycled aluminium so most of their product is from virgin material. And while recycled aluminium is easy to recycle, ore extraction is highly energy intensive, wasting incredible amounts of water, electricity and resources. Nespresso has understood the extent of the problem, and therefore has made a pledge towards sustainable aluminium sourcing. But for now, the use of virgin aluminium still uses 95% more energy than recycling it. The short of it is, using a re-usable capsule is better for the environment so is the favourable option than relying on a recycling process.

We extended our order to 6 pods and are very happy with the communication and service. It was a bit of a learning curve the first few times putting them into our machine but have the technique 😉 now and filling the pods is so easy.
Only problem is pod gets stuck in machine sometimes.
I noticed yesterday that after filling 2 of the pods with coffee they did work not in my machine. For some reason the machine would not put the water through the pod. Can you give any advice on how to prevent this.
Brilliant idea very easy to clean but not sure about getting the lid off though but a knife works fine lol. Also a bit stiff fitting in my nepresso and have to jiggle a bit to get the machine to close but does work
Great investment in saving the planet thank you 😊
So so easy to clean, well made & a huge eco win.
